North Carolina State Fair – Deep fried food and fun – Visit WRAL at the State Fair

That’s an hour later than previous years. New food options this year include a Thanksgiving-stuffed turkey leg, rattlesnake corn dogs and pickle pizza. From a Vegas-style comedy hypnotist to a fire artist , the North Carolina State Fair is introducing some new attractions this year.

There are also five new rides to check out. The N. Public House, which showcases locally-made beers, wines, ciders and sodas, was moved last year to the South Dorton Arena lobby. It will remain there this year, and Oct. There will be two security checkpoints at each gate. Those fairgoers who bring a clear bag will go through a much quicker inspection, while those with an opaque bag will go through the bag search line.

Guests are encouraged to use a clear bag. There is no size limit to the clear bag used. Recreational vehicles are not allowed to remain in the parking spaces managed by the State Fair between the hours of midnight and 8 a.

Shuttles will run continuously. The Reedy Creek parking hours are Thursday, Oct. Pick up will occur at the same location. Amenities on site will include a covered waiting area, portable restroom facilities and drink machines.
