Not necessarily a bad thing, just a little different than what we expected. The half chicken was amazing though. We rarely order chicken at a restaurant but this was done to perfection. Served in a baking dish, it is plenty of food for two plus leftovers. Smyly was our server and he was fantastic. I highly recommend Rhubarb! Waitress was very helpful and knowledgeable about the revolving farm to table menu.
She helped guide us on choices – from small bites to shareables to main dishes. Wife loved her steak with locally sourced ramps. Maybe a bit overpriced. Overall, 4. Waiter was attentive. The meal was good but not the best we ever had. The goat cheese burrata was tasty and so was the chicken dish and the duck confit could have had more duck. Overall ok.

White Duck Taco Shop opened adjacent an artist studio in the River Arts District in , and while the picnic-tabled, quick food spot joined a slew of fun and eclectic eateries in the district, it has certainly emerged as a standout. There’s almost always a line out the door, especially during peak lunch and dinner times Monday through Saturday.
Inside, a colorful chalkboard displays the kitchen’s offerings, including a dozen varieties of tacos with a nod to a plethora of international cuisines. White Duck Taco serves some of the most innovative tacos in Asheville. These are great! This casual local taco shop has multiple locations around Asheville, but we like the quirky hipster vibe at the River Arts District location on Riverside Drive the best.
What to order: Fish taco, roasted duck with mole taco, mushroom and potato taco, pork belly taco and the salsa trio. SpoonTip: When visiting the River Arts District location, take a stroll around the local art galleries. Fish taco being my least favorite, still good, but perhaps if it was battered and not grilled it would have been better was too fishy for me. All of these tacos were absolutely wonderful, and we loved them all. Tacos are super good!
There are tacos for everyone here whether you are vegetarian, Vegan or a meat eater… there is something delicious for everyone! Highly recommend starting by sharing the Salasa and Chips then getting your tacos. Parking is easy even if you are traveling with a trailer. Jerk chicken and fish tacos were so good! Love the environment, interesting decor inside, plenty of shaded outdoor seating. They had some funky options for tacos but the combination of ingredients made it surprisingly delicious!

The menu changes daily, but you might find polenta, veal sweetbreads, wood-fired pizzas or handmade pasta. This Italian spot offers a charming atmosphere and delicious small plates you can share with the table. The menu at Cucina24 changes up pretty often depending on the seasonality of the ingredients. Share one of their thin crust pizza creations.
We had an excellent meal here. This restaurant was recommended to us by some of staff at the Hotel and we are glad we made the trip. The staff at this restaurant is great. They made is feel welcome as soon as we walked in. Our server explained everything on the menu so well that we didn’t have any questions. The meal was 5 courses and we had our choice of Entrees. The rest of the meal was set. You can see the menu online as it changes consistently with the availability of different ingredients.
The trout entree I had was one of the best pieces of fish I had eaten in a while. The courses are spaced accordingly and we never felt rushed. We were definitely full after the meal ended. The cocktails were delicious as well. I highly recommended this restaurant. We love to eat and Cuchina 24 fit our taste. Since we are still in the Omicron phase the restaurant made sure all guests are vaccinated and we had to show our vaccination cards and wear masks until we sat down.
Staff was masked during the entire visit. We were very well taken care of by our waiter and other staff. They also were very accommodating about me allergies. A 5-course menu Italien inspired and the wine tasting were a delight. Some was missing without it. But we highly recommend this dining experience! Tasting menu is insanely good, way beyond expectations.
Dishes are definitely Michelin level quality in terms of taste, authenticity and creativity. Hard to imagine they only charge 60 per person. You might drive by The Admiral a few times before you realize that the unassuming cinderblock building with its hole-in-the-wall veneer is actually the place you’re looking for.

But, Greta was wonderful and worked her magic to secure us a table. Our server, Mark, was great! He was extremely attentive and made the perfect suggestions for our entire group. We loved everything that we ordered from drinks to food to dessert. I even left something behind on our table by accident but called them to ask them to locate it and hold for me, which they did. The Admiral was the perfect choice for our Friday night friends dinner.
We will definitely return! Upscale American fare. The service was competent and our server had a great dry humor. We had apps, entrees, cocktails, dessert the whole menu almost. Trout had yummy crisp skin, the steak was perfectly cooked and the mussels and pasta just right. Craft cocktails included a “kitchen coke”. Funny take on a rum and Coke. This place offers especially good drinks and food!
From the outside the restaurant looks totally inconspicuous, but wrongly so: right at the reception you dive into the culinary world of the Admiral. We sat directly at the bar especially recommended for two! The barman Mat’s recommendations exceeded all our expectations. The sweetbreads are one of the best we have ever tasted!

This modern Mexican restaurant is the result of three ingredients: a talented chef from Mexico City, locally sourced ingredients, and a San We had a wonderful dinner there tonight. Richard, our waiter, made excellent suggestions. The arugula salad was fantastic as was the bread pudding. And I highly recommend the blood orange margarita. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by the host near the bar area.
We had a reservation, so we were seated quickly. The restaurant has a classy old fashioned look with large mirrors, Eidson type lights, wood floors, nice decor and large wall paintings. Our server came over and explained the menu as well as several offerings of interest. I had the pleasure of trying the lamb and the scallops. Both probably could have used a touch more flavor and a little higher temperature.
The fingerling potatoes and broccoli were good accompanying items. The dessert has the flavor I was hoping for and I was definitely impressed! The atmosphere and service was great.

Plant is vegan, 90 percent organic, often local and mostly gluten-free, with almost everything made from scratch without an animal product in the house.

Born and raised in a carniverous North Georgia family, I would have never imagined loving vegan food. Opened in by Leslie Armstrong, Alan Berger, and chef Jason Sellers, Plant was the restaurant that changed my mind, emerging as one of our favorite places to eat in Asheville.
No animal products are served in the restaurant. It opened in and since then was voted the best vegetarian restaurant, the healthiest bite, the greenest restaurant, best service, and one of the most romantic dining experiences in Asheville.
The dish is served up with seasonal vegetables, cashew cheese, cacao mole, enchilada sauce and sour cream the vegan kind. As a bonus, this dish is also gluten free.
Plant is Asheville’s top vegan restaurant, with a sophisticated, frequently changing menu of plant-based dishes from different cultures and Plant was one of the best culinary experiences of my life. Not only was the highlighted item in each individual dish spiced and cooked to perfection, but the accompanying items, which were delicious in their own right, enhanced the overall dish.
The service was thoughtful, the staff were mindful of pacing our meal, and each dish was unique and exquisite. Every dish was a visual experience utilizing varying colors, textures, and serving plates. Our table was nearly silent throughout our meal at Plant. Despite having much to discuss and catch up on with close friends, we were so overwhelmed by the flavors of the food that we were unable to do more than simply fully take in each bite.
Distilling our experience into a review feels impossible, you’ll definitely want to experience Plant for yourself. Outstanding service, as well, especially due to reservation complications due to covid. Thank you all! Excellent menu and cooking, with good portion sizes. Sovereign Remedies is a clever upscale casual restaurant housed within Asheville’s New Medical Building, owned and operated by restaurateurs Sunil Patel and Charlie Hodge since October of The restaurant, which is open for brunch, dinner, and late night service throughout the week, is named in honor of a term for homemade medicines in the Appalachian Mountain region, a nod to the hardship and lack of access to resources that early area pioneers faced in the 19th century.
Elegant dishes are prepared by executive chef Graham House, including bavette steak, beef tartare, foie gras mousse, and chicken breast prepared with oyster mushrooms, turnip greens, and tomatillos. True to that romantic aesthetic, Sovereign Remedies serves some of the best cocktails in Asheville, which is what people know them for.
Located downtown Asheville N Market St. Lots of great options of the list and plenty of tasty recommendations from the staff. Worth a stop if you want something worth having. This was a nice, eclectic spot, with a dark ambience. We ordered the corn bread, brussel sprouts my fave , beef carpaccio least favorite , potatoes, trout, shrimp, and beef shoulder.
Drinks were great, I recommend the No Sleep till Brooklyn, and service was on point. Dessert was underwhelming, I recommend you skip it. Chopped Cut for the Moment main course.
Service was good. The frites were a standout and rest of what we ate was adequate. We had a cute table that overlooked the first floor. The company was co-founded in by two Asheville families who moved to Delaware for a few years, then came back to witness a boom in progressive thought and craft beer culture.
Wicked Weed initially offered 25 unique draft beers, but became known for their thick, hoppy, sour beers. The Wicked Weed Brewing Pub is located right in downtown Asheville and is home to a restaurant, tasting room,barrel brewery, and bottle shop. Check out the upper level of the historic brewery, which has elevated pub gastronomy, plenty of options for beer, and delicious cocktails. In the tasting room, you will be able to try 25 of the beers offered, including some of the limited releases.
Here at Uncorked Asheville, we always get asked for the best Asheville restaurants near or at breweries. Although Wicked Weed is indeed a tourist spot, you kind of have to go here too. Wicked Weed serves up delicious sandwiches, burgers, and entrees to pair with their wide beer selection.
My husband and I went brewery hopping and Wicked Weed was on our list. The service at the bar was exceptional. The bartenders were very attentive and answered our questions about the menu. We got two flights which are set. The set flights are highly encouraged and were very interesting. They each offered a variety of beers with very distinct tastes.
Family and I came for dinner after visiting the Arboretum and this place was a hit!!! Outdoor seating was a plus, service was quick, and food was delicious. Special mention on the beer! I shared a mixed flight with my sister and loved each one. I ordered the Carolina Bison Burger medium well with bacon. Really enjoyed this brewery and all the beers it offers. Loved trying all the interesting flavors like the Milk and Cookies stout, the brute ale-wine and the Kesho honey ale. We also had a burger and a chicken sandwich that were really good.

Just loved it. Our menus were lighted!! Really great atmosphere. Shrimp and grits were good. French toast was pretty good. Staff seemed exhausted and pretty over worked. Wont be heading back. We went here for breakfast in the morning.
There was a short delay because as every other business in the country is shorthanded this place was a bit short-handed. The service was good after that and the oatmeal with fresh fruit was perfect.

First time there and the food was amazing! Drinks were awesome! Server was very sweet and attentive. Would definitely go back! Make sure you have a reservation though or you won’t be likely to get in. It’ll be worth it though! Food, ambience and service were great!
Reminded us of favorite Parisian bistros. Start with the pate. The duck and the gnocci were wonderful. French comfort food indeed. An eclectic French Bistro with authentic French cuisine. Lovely ambiance, but NOT a white tablecloth affair. The escargot were delicious, although served on croutons vs. In the shell. Perfectly silky Leek and Potato soup that had a bit of a spicy bite to it, a perfectly juicy Chicken Cordon Bleu, and creative and delicious cocktails which we reordered twice.

The restaurant, which showcases industrial-chic decor and beautiful rustic chandeliers for romantic ambiance, serves up elegant land and sea fare at dinner, cultivated by executive chef Matt Dawes. The Bull and Beggar is traditional and elegant yet cutting edge all at the same time. The menu is Euro-inspired, containing things like foie gras, oysters, and caviar. The Bull and Beggar is decidedly warehouse hip, with brick walls, old wood floors, and high ceilings.
Its most popular feature is Burger Monday Best filet mignon I’ve ever had! The atmosphere is very cozy, the staff are excellent and attentive. The creamed spinach and carrots were to die for! I highly recommend the Steel Magnolia drink, it was so good. It was my first time here so I was a little tricky to find but overall excellent food! I did make reservations online which saved so much time upon arrival. Hard hard pass.
Absolutely not worth the price. We watched a table aside of us also really dislike their meal. Oysters were great, filet mignon was excellent, the only downside was the frites, which are just fries.
To serve this steak with fries is a downplay. Cocktails were all top notch. Lamb chop had a huge bone in the middle, and was hard to navigate around. Our room was clean. I loved how it was decorated. I enjoyed how the staff address you by name. I did get a little achy after sleeping in that bed. It was a very relaxing stay! Will return! Beautiful building with excellent and accommodating staff, however the rooms left a bit to be desired especially for the price.
They looked no different than a Hampton Inn. Mattress was box spring and pillows were thin. Rooms and bathroom are in need of updating. The staff was excellent and they even gave us a complimentary bottle of wine to celebrate our anniversary, which was a nice touch. This is a luxury hotel and it lives up to the word luxurious in all aspects. From the service, to the scenery, to the food as well as the prices. My husband, our son and myself had a great time for the night we stayed.
The hotel is very accommodating with shuttle service through out the estate. We signed up for the Van Gogh show and the Biltmore House tour. The food was outstanding. Remember to make reservations for the restaurant or you will have to order room service.
But they do have the Library Lounge with a select menu. The cocktails and wine were awesome. My husband and I enjoyed both bottles that were in our room. I will definitely be back in the summer. Zambra was named as North Carolina’s most romantic restaurant in by USA Today, known as the city’s premiere space for tapas service. The restaurant, which is helmed by restaurateur Peter Montague and executive chef Adam Bannasch, is known as a pioneer among Asheville’s farm-to-table scene, serving up Iberian-style tapas and other cuisine items native to the Western Mediterranean.
Spanish and Moorish decor accents adorn its rustic dining room space, which showcases an amber-lit ceiling and a beautiful polished stone floor. The menu here at Zambra features Spanish classics as well as a selection of more international offerings. Great service, great wine list with selections to not break the bank. The gnocchi and pork spring rolls were top! The food came out quite quickly and water was always filled. The mussels were to be desired, great flavor but still Excellent food.
Tapas style. Tried basically ordered 10 or more of their plates. All very good and out together well. The atmosphere is really nice and scenic. Very unique. Highly suggest. This is a cool tapas restaurant in downtown Asheville. A perfect place for an intimate dinner and the wine list is deep and stellar.
The standout tapas was the Sunburst Farms Trout with garlic chili sauce, serrano ham and Oranges Supreme. The soft savory flavor of the trout contrasted with the salty crispness of the ham.
The cheese plate, featuring an assortment of Spanish cheeses, spiced honey and quince jelly was also wonderful. Highly recommended. Mentioned on 3 lists. Mela Indian Restaurant offers delicious North and South Indian dishes featuring a number of excellent vegan, vegetarian, seafood, and meat dishes that are as diverse and unique as the people and cultures of India.
We love the bindi okra , chole chickpeas , saag paneer, and chicken tikka at Mela— but the tandoor seafood dishes and copious list of specials are also excellent.
One of our favorite Asheville Indian restaurants, Mela offers large portions of North and South Indian-inspired cuisine. You can find vegan and gluten-free options, too. They boast of fresh and local ingredients, and their sauces are to die for. The vibe was awesome. The place was neat and respectful. The food were flavorful and authentic. I highly recommend to try this place when you are in Asheville. They have drinks on site too. The menu is diverse and covers entree from all over India.
Good lunch buffet but not many options. Only one curry out but the tandoori chicken was excellent. The naan are also quite nice so make sure you get them while they are there.

After returning home, he opened a unique doughnut spot and re-opened the eclectic Storm Rhum Bar in Rum-based cocktails are of course the specialty of Storm Rhum Bar and Bistro. But its top-notch cuisine and hip-yet-inviting indoor-outdoor venue are major draws as well.
May sister and I were in town visiting and selected this restaurant from a list our hotel concierge provided. What an amazing and surprising place! It is located in a somewhat residential area and upon entering, the feel is true Ashville eclectic. There is outdoor patio seating as well as indoor. While the menu is small compared to big chain restaurants, the choices were interesting and varied.
Great detail is given to presentation of the food. Our server Taylor, was incredibly knowledge about each menu item; how it is prepared, and what locally sourced seasonal ingredients are used.
Her passion for food is very evident and made our experience so enjoyable! We enjoyed the homemade desserts and French Press coffee to complete our meal. We loved this place and would highly recommend it if you would like an interesting and food focused restaurant.
I have enjoyed this place since the first time I walked up to the bar and had an amazing rum cocktail. The food, although I haven’t tried a lot of it, has been great when I have. And if rum isn’t your thing they have a full selection of other liquor, wine, and beer. Had dinner here with my wife and for our anniversary, and we loved it! When we were suddenly caught in the rain outside after we ordered, our waitress Taylor found a seat inside for us, allowing us to enjoy dinner without being soaked.
We had the pickle plate and cheese plate for an appetizer, and they were both fantastic. We also had the Mai Tai to start and it brought back memories of Hawaii. For dinner, I had the NY strip and she had the duck with a waffle. Both meals were superb! The food, drinks, and service from Taylor and the other staff were all excellent.
