I right clicked a tib file in Windows Explorer, but “mount image” does not appear in the options listed. I also reinstalled True Image , but that didn’t help. The tib file I’m right clicking is a file backup, not a full system backup. Any other suggestions?
It is not possible to mount a files only backup but you can view it as indicated in post 1. Try my suggetion lsted above. When using the right click context options, there should be a True Image folder listed on the right click options and clicking the True Image folder should display any TI options. Thanks again for your feedback.
I have tried all your suggestions, but a True Image folder is not listed when I right click a tib file located on my external hard drive. The tib file is there, but no right click option shows True Image or mount image. I can double click a tib file, but nothing happens.
Whether or not this has anything to do with it, when I uninstalled the original installation, I installed the latest build which is Should I have installed the original file first and then updated with the file? I’m about to the point of either reinstalling TI , or getting another backup program.
I do want a program that will backup an image of my hard drive as well as clone, plus file backups which are much faster to backup than doing an image backup of my C: Drive.
When you left double click any tib file, it should open a new window and the tib file shoud open. A new left double click should open another window and C drive entry should be lsted. Success left double clicks should keep opening Windows and you browse to your storage of tib files.
Inside the tib storage folder, you should be able to right click on a specific file and choose open or copy. If you cannot do those things, I would run the cleanup utility link below and then reinstall again.
All new tasks will be required. If you decide to revert to , either do so via a restore of a backup; or run the TI cleanup utiity link 4 below and then reinstall All new tasks will be needed in either situation.
As an update, I did run the cleanup utility, verified that “snapman” etc. I then created the backups Drive C: image, Data and Image files , and ran a backups for the Data and Image files, which were successful. True Image was listed in the right pane in Windows Explorer, and I was able to view the contained files. But, when I tried to run the Drive C: image backup, it wouldn’t run – I clicked backup now and nothing happened.
I clicked it again, and then I got an error message, and the program froze. I restarted, tried to open TI, and the same error message appeared. I then had enough of TI, and I ran the cleanup utility again, restarted and installed TI which worked without a problem. I have been using TI since , upgrading each year, and never had a problem until TI which clearly, in my opinion, is not ready for prime time.
So, I plan to find another backup program and migrate to that since Acronis has quality issues. Thanks again for your help, but I plan to move on to another backup utility. Otherwise, I’ll go elsewhere. Any fix for this? I am having the same issue. The attached is what my explorer context menu shows.
Double-clicking will try to “Open”, which has no associated program. Even if I try to open with Acronis , it doesn’t work. Also, I’m trying to mount this image in the hopes that the restore will be faster than 1 day, 16 hours. What the heck happened to Acronis??
Found a fix for the lack of Context Menu option. Reinstalled repaired the Acronis installation. That fixes it. Now as to why it still restores so slowly, beats me.
